AMATEUR RADIO SERVICE

If your Amateur Radio organization would like to have a FREE site hosted here, please email me.

Are you considering getting involved in Amateur Radio? Maybe you don't know much about it. Go to www.hello-radio.com, www.emergency-radio.org or www.WeDoThat-Radio.org to learn about the Amateur Radio Service.

Are you aware that Morse Code knowledge is no longer a requirement to become an Amateur Radio Operator?

Did you just pass your Technician exam and are looking for the next step or perhaps you're considering upgrading your license?

I got my Technician license in May 2007 and upgraded to the General license in April 2009. I still remember what it's like to try and find information on amateur radio in Kansas City (I spent many, many hours searching on Google). This is why I decided to put this site together.

Let me be clear, this is not an exhaustive site on amateur radio in the KC area. Instead, I've gathered together information and links to sites I've found very helpful...and some of them were difficult to find.

Since many get into amateur radio for the storm spotting angle, I have posted an Unofficial KC Storm Spotting Manual. I've also included some great weather information, links to weather software (some of it free) and links to miscellaneous weather sites.

Finally, since an amateur radio operator should always be prepared to serve, I'm also including preparedness information and links to different preparedness sites.

Respectfully submitted,
