Other Frequencies

Okay, I'll fess up. I sometimes enjoy listening in on commercial frequencies, traffic, the news helicopters, and whatever fire & police frequencies I can catch. This helps me be aware of what's going on...especially during severe weather.

Here's where I go to find other interesting frequencies to monitor:

Radio Reference - This is their Kansas City section. They have many interesting frequecies you'll not find listed anywhere else.
KSMOSCANNER.COM - A good site to find frequencies to monitor.
Missouri/Kansas Scanner Radio - offline
MetroScan.net - Another decent frequency site.

I've stumbled across interesting frequencies just while scanning with the HT. Sometimes I'll have it on in the background while getting ready for work. The next day, I'll move up or down a bit in an effort to find a particular frequency. Early weekday mornings are a good time to do some searching. During a severe weather event can be another good time to search (while your NOAA Weather Radio is on, of course).
